Performance Improvements

• Payroll History page now loads significantly faster, even with a large number of payroll runs.
• Employee List page loading times have been dramatically improved. Employee details including current pay rates and tax codes appear immediately.

Draft Payslips Workflow

• Generate draft payslips for saved payroll runs before finalising, allowing review and approval ahead of the final run.
• Draft payslips are clearly marked with a DRAFT watermark to distinguish them from final versions.
• After saving a payroll run, you're automatically taken to the Payroll History page for easier navigation. The payroll detail view now correctly displays all allowances and deductions.

Payroll Processing

• Recalculate with confidence — the "Start Payroll Run" and "Recalculate" buttons now always reflect your latest employee selections and hours.
• Adjustment labels clarified — the "Factor of Hourly Rate" calculation basis has been renamed to "Number of Hours" for clarity.

Employee Management

• Bulk import improvements — enhanced handling of imported data including phone numbers, bank account numbers, and pay rates. Address fields are now flexible, allowing partial address imports.
• Zero-hours contract support — employees on variable-hours contracts are now fully supported. Weekly hours can be left blank, and the payroll grid pre-populates default hours for quick entry.
• Tax code handling — tax codes are no longer pre-populated with default values. The form remains clean until you explicitly enter a tax code.

Direction Notices (Redesigned)

• Simplified to three clear notice types: Cease Deductions, Additional Tax to Deduct, and Tax Refund.
• Notices can now be set as "until further notice" with no end date required.
• Each type has a clear, specific effect on the payroll calculation.

Bulk Payrun Import

• Download a pre-filled template listing all active employees with their default hours and current adjustment values.
• Upload completed data to populate the payroll grid for preview before finalising.
• Supports re-upload if corrections are needed before the run is finalised.

Adjustments Module

• Assignment filtering — search and filter employee assignments by employee name, adjustment name, or use the employee dropdown to quickly find specific assignments.
• Improved session handling across the Adjustments page for a smoother experience during long working sessions.
